How Palm Charms started...

 

At the beginning of 2021 my daughter started school. Already having 2 brothers going into year 3, she was excited about starting 'big school'. Parents weren't allowed in the classroom. I blew her a kiss at the classroom door, she caught it and pretended to put it in her pocket, then off she went.

 

It was at that moment, that Palm Charms sparked inside me. I didn't have the name. I didn't know exactly what they would look like. I did'nt know how to start, but what I did know, was that I wanted to create something children could carry around with them all day. Like a kiss in their pocket. I wanted a tangible reminder from home, that they could touch at any time and know that they were also being thought about.

 

The concept grew very quickly from there! I knew I believed in the concept with everything inside me. I knew I had to just start.

 

With my teaching and education background and experience working with children of different ages and abilities, I knew I wanted my Palm Charms to help children, faced with many situations. I carefully and selectively decided what I wanted each disc to say and made sure the quote on each side, complemented it's flip-side. ie. "My Love is with you Always - You're not alone" or "You've got this - Breathe"

Each quote is simple, yet can open up a whole conversation about the emotions and feelings around each one.

I love watching my own children carefully choose which one they want to take with them each day. Sometimes they choose more than one and some days they give me one to carry for the day, too. 

​

Most of all, I love hearing about the different ways Palm Charms are being used and many ways they are helping parents and children.
